Why Starting A Mom Blog Is Scary and Why I’m So Ready!
I started a mom blog a few years ago. In this blog I’m sharing why starting a mom blog is scary but why I did it!
Starting a mom blog is kind of scary! It’s vulnerable and takes you out of your comfort zone. But I also think there’s so much good in sharing these moments. Keep reading to learn why I think mom blogs are important and why I decided to start one after I experienced having 2 kids under 2 year olds.

- You’re a stay at home mom (SAHM)

About Me and My Motherhood Blog
Hey, I’m Alessandra! I am a stay at home mom of 3 kids and have been a mom since 2015. I started blogging in 2019 after basically surviving through the 2 under 2 stage. This blog was a creative outlet for me because sometimes being a SAHM is lonely. Blogging was a way for me to share the ups and downs of motherhood while also having a “thing” that was just for me! Having an identity outside of motherhood is crucial to thriving and enjoying your journey!
Starting a Mom Blog
After being a mom for almost 4 years and thinking about blogging through many of those years, I finally started and created Just A Basic Mama in 2019. I love talking about kids, the ups and downs of motherhood, birth stories, being positive, and helping stay at home moms. So I thought, why wouldn’t I share my stories and hear about others?
Honestly, I was scared.
I was scared that no one would read it or no one would care. Scared that I’d say the same things someone else has said. Scared to wear my heart on my sleeve, because I am so not one to wear my heart on my sleeve. I have a hard time talking about my feelings and being vulnerable. So really why would I start a blog? It seemed ridiculous. But, ultimately, if there’s anything I learned in my 20s, it was to step outside my comfort zone. I think a blog is exactly what I needed and I didn’t want to hide anymore!
Having a Mom Blog
It’s cliche, but they say to do the things that scare you most. And that’s what having a motherhood blog was for me. But I’m so glad I started! It’s been a fun learning experience and I’ve gotten the best feedback over the years. I love connecting with other stay at home moms and I truly enjoy helping other moms feel less alone. I try to be “real life relatable” and get back to the basics of motherhood here. While also helping moms to feel less overwhelmed and ditch the mommy burnout.
Sharing with the world, my take on motherhood, on being a SAHM has been just what I needed for myself too! It has been a great hobby and given me an identity outside motherhood.
