    1. How To Teach ABCs to Toddlers: Sing the ABCs

The first step is getting them to hear the names of each letter. So turn on Alexa or warm up your own singing voice and start singing the ABCs on a daily basis!

    2. Read Books

There are SO many children’s books about letters. Here are a few of our favorites: Chicka, Chicka, Boom Boom by Bill Martin Jr., A to Z by Sandra Boynton, and ABC Animal Jamboree by Giles Andreae. Check out your local library for even more!

    3. Associate letters with things they know

When I taught my daughter her name, I gave each letter an association with something she already know (a person or thing that was tangible to her.) Here is an example: Her name is Mallory. So I would show her her name written out and say, M is for Mama, A is for apple, L is for Lila, (a friend of hers) O is for orange, R is for Roman, (her brother) Y is for Yes! She began so associate those letters with things she actually knew and before I knew it, she was reciting the letters of her name.

    4. How To Teach ABCs to Toddlers: Teach upper case letters first

Grab your ABC Activity Pack to help with letter recognition, sound, and writing. Each page contains 1 letter of the alphabet with circles in it so you can use a dot marker and have fun creating the letter! There are 3 colorful pictures on each page that start with the corresponding letter, so you can talk about the picture and what sound the letter makes. Then at the bottom there is a dotted, upper case letter your child can trace. This is a digital download that will be sent right to your inbox and you can download and print it over and over again!
