Park Challenge For Kids: 30 Days of Play

Get ready for a fun summer! In this blog learn about my 30 Day Park Challenge for Kids and get outside more this summer.
If you’re looking for some fun summer ideas, you’re in the right place. This blog is about The 30-Day Park Challenge for Kids that I did a few years ago. I was inspired by a former co-worker who did this with her two daughters last summer. Every single day for 30 days, they visited a brand new playground. Like, just hopped in the car, drove around to find a new spot, and let the fun begin. She called it #30PlaysIn30Days, and I absolutely LOVED the idea.
At the time, I felt like my kids were just a little too young to really get the full experience, but I’ve been thinking about it ever since. And now we’re ready to give it a try. So starting Monday, June 3, we’re jumping into our very own 30-Day Park Challenge, and I can’t wait! It’s going to be a great way to get outside and get exercise. Watch less TV (GUILTY) and maybe even find new places nearby that we didn’t even know existed!

Why parks are so great for kids
Real quickly, let’s discuss why this park challenge for kids is so important. You know getting outside is beneficial for kids, but what about an actually park? They are important too and here’s a few reasons why:
Endless exploration:
Parks offer a natural space for kids to explore, climb, and imagine. Plus it’s all while moving their bodies and building confidence. There’s a lot of wins there if you ask me!
Fresh air & sunshine:
There’s nothing better than some fresh air and Vitamin D. Being outside regularly is amazing for mood, sleep, and overall health (for them and for us, mama!) It also seems a thousand times easier to parent when you’re outside too.
Social connection:
Parks give our little ones a chance to make new friends, practice sharing, and experience play outside of the home. Maybe you can meet a new mom friend too!
Less screen time, more play time:
This is my favorite reason. This park challenge gives us a daily reason to unplug and enjoy real-life fun together. Less gigabytes, more parks and sunshine!
Final Thoughts
It’s going to be a FUN 30 days! And I can’t wait to see all the parks we will all visit! I encourage you to join this park challenge for kids too. Whether you visit one new park a week, hit up a few on weekends, or go all in for 30 days, I know it will be a fun and worthwhile experience. Let’s make summer more fun, more connected, and full of memories we’ll never forget.
