3 Fun Things To Do With Your Kids

If you need to get out of the house today, check out these 3 fun things to do with your kids below! Getting out of the house can help reduce mom burnout, anxiety, and cabin fever. It can help the day go a little faster and you might find it’s even more enjoyable to be out and about with your kids! Keep reading for 3 fun things to do that are probably right in your area!

1. Indoor Playground

These are super trendy right now (especially in areas with long winters) and are pretty inexpensive, typically ranging from $7-$10 per child. It’s a great place to get your kids out of the house, there are new toys for them to play with, and it’s a great social activity. You will even find other stay-at-home moms to chat with! Win-win for everyone.

2. Get a Membership to Your Local Y

The Y is open all day long. I don’t know about you, but I often find the couple hours between after nap and dinner time to be the longest few hours of the day. Which makes it a great time to get out of the house! The Y has so many activities for kids. If there are no structured activities going on, you can go to just play in the gym or go for a swim. You could even go to the gym for yourself, if that’s your thing, and most offer a “daycare” to drop yours kids off at. Yay for some “free time!”

I know you’re probably thinking, “please! we can’t afford that on one income,” but the Y prides itself on making their facilities available for all, so they can work with you to lower the price. A membership for a family of 4 is around $80/month, but if that is too much for your family, they have a program that will work with your income and give you a price based on that. Find out more at the Y here.

3. Open Gyms

There are lots of gymnastics gyms around and a lot of them offer specific open gym times to the public. It’s a great place for toddlers and kids to get out lots of energy, get some exercise, and practice some skills they probably don’t use on a daily basis. You might even meet a new friend! Check online for your local gyms for days and times. It will probably cost you $10-15 for a few hours.
